I am a Class AA PGA Level 3 Coach and a Senior Teaching Professional at Worthing Golf Club. I qualified as a PGA Professional in 1981 and have been coaching golfers at all skill levels from tour players to toddlers for the last 25 years. My goal has always been to improve by learning from the best and I’ve worked directly with world-renowned golf coaches such as Denis Pugh, Bill Ferguson, and Pete Cowan. For the past eight years, I have worked regularly with Mac O’Grady on the M.O.R.A.D. golf teaching system but I do not teach a “system” I teach you. My approach is pretty simple, I create a fun environment for you to learn what works for you to improve your golf game. Notice I said golf “game” – not “golf swing”.
I don’t teach “golf swing” I teach golf. So that includes putting, short game and course management. I’m also very interested in learning theory – we all have different learning styles. Do you know yours? Before we hit a ball, a little 12 point questionnaire will till us whether you’re a “visual” learner or someone who prefers to follow “instructions”. It makes a huge difference. In 2008 I was voted South Region PGA Coach of the Year and currently, I’m Lead Coach for the Kent County Golf Partnership. In 2011, I attended a ‘Golf Disability Awareness Course’ and now run a weekly group lesson, for people with disabilities.
